SHORT FILM HISTORY

Who makes short films:

Short films can be professional or amateur productions. Short films are often screened at local, national, or international film festivals. Short films are often made by independent filmmakers for non profit, either with a low budget, no budget at all, and in rare cases big budgets. Short films are usually funded by film grants, non profit organizations, sponsor, or out of pocket funds. These films are used by indie filmmakers to prove their talent in order to gain funding for future films from private investors, entertainment companies, or film studios. Short films do qualify for Academy Awards if screened in Los Angeles.

How short films are regulated?

British Film Institute.

Is an organisation responsible for the national classification and censorship of films within the United Kingdom. The government currently designate the BBFC as the authority for certifying video releases. As the law requires the certificate to be displayed on the packaging and media labels of the video recording, in practice only UK releases can be legally sold or hired in the UK, even if a foreign release had identical content.

All films rated by the BBFC receive a certificate, along with "consumer advice" detailing references to sex, violence and coarse language. If a certificate specifies that a film or video game is only suitable for someone over a certain age, then only those over that age may buy it.

CREATIVITY

This is a creative way of presenting my ideas, it allowed me to zoom, edit, and to add frames and then present it in a systematic way. It is appealing to look at as it has the right amount of texts and pictures and its not too much to take in.

researching on posters

These are some of the examples of horror movie posters. They commonly use in horror posters low key lighting to give the film a sinister edge to it. The use of dark lighting shown on the poster will make the audience imagine how the setting is, where it is located, what range of lighting techniques will be used and how the atmosphere of the film will be.

Also with these posters they all have images of either an eye, a face that is covered or a face that is shown with a bit lighting or an object. Automatically the image or the object used on the front cover of a poster gives you the first insight of what the films going to be about or what the film will consist of which is the main focus when getting the audiences to watch the film because it has to appeal to them.
