Distorted face of the child Ivy

We want the ending of the scene to end with the child Ivy's face, this is because her face is not visible to the audience at all throughout the scene, this is why we want her face to appear at the very end but we want her face to be distorted, we want to give the audience a fright by making her face unbearable to look at. The image above is something similar we want as our actors face because we want the audience to be shocked when for the first time they see Ivy's face.

Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro is a editing software which allows users to log and transfer video onto a hard drive, where it can be edited, processed, and output to a wide variety of formats. Final Cut Pro has developed a large and expanding user base, mainly independent filmmakers

Features
Supports a number of simultaneously composited video, up to 99 audio tracks
multi-camera editing for combining video from multiple camera sources; as well as standard ripple, roll, slip, slide, scrub, razor blade and time remapping edit functions.

We are using this software to put our short film into action; we have recorded our script and have inserted them into the software with the correct shots we created on storyboard. After we placed the shots with the scripted audios we added transitions to the shots, we added the credit titles and many other things.

With this software we have come across some minor fallbacks, such as; some of the sound effects we wanted were not on the list therefore, we had to search for them on the internet. Also in the beginning the tittle of the film we used the backgrounds that were available on final cut which were good but we wanted to make changes to it but were not able to. All in all this software is quite good when using it to animate the script as it allows you to use the features available to make it come to life.

Interview with Callum Macintosh

This is an interview with Callum Macintosh, who has worked on music score for mainstream film such as "Alice in Wonderland" "Nanny Mchpee" and "Angles and Demons". This has helped me a lot for when I start filming as it gave me ideas on how to start a short film without making it cliché, how to end the film, what soundtracks to use, tips on what shots we can use for each shot without using the same shots continuously and many more. These professional tips has allowed me to get a broader understanding of how my short film will look.

Recce

First picture is a photo of the living room of location 2. The reason why we want this location is because we like the look of this room as it looks sort of traditional with the fireplace and in horror films majority of the time there is always a fireplace in the living room which gives it a warm feeling but also gives you goosebumps because you don't know what to expect.

The second image is a shot of the house front view, from looking at it you could see that the house is very big, which will allow us to film without any problems as there is enough space to film, also traditional houses give the impression that the house is isolated.

Third image is one of the two sets we have for the bedroom scene, both sets allow us to film without having problems with the space. Also this is our first location which we have chosen.

The first location stairs, and a front view of the first location house. Also the next image is the kitchen and lastly, the toilet scene.

We have decided that the location to use for our filming is the big traditional house, this is because the location of the house is spacious, we will be able to film without any problems. Also the house will provoke the audience into feeling that theres something mysterious happening in the house making the film successful in getting the audience to feel scared.
