Poster final
This is a draft of our poster, so far it is nearly completed however, we need to consider changing the font of the writing that is on the bottom left hand corner because the audience feedback I received told me it was not readable. Also we are still contemplating on what we should add on the poster in that empty space as it looks empty but we are not sure on what we could add. One of the audience said we should add some sort of review to clear the empty space.

audience response for trailers
I received audience response for my trailer draft and my final trailer. The feedback I received were helpful because the audience told us what she liked and what we could improve on. For example for the draft trailer we had no dialogue which the girl picked up on and she said that we should add dialogue for when we start to improve it which we did as you can hear on the final trailer. Also for the second trailer the audience said we should add more onto the trailer by making the script more scarier and explain more of the storyline to encourage viewers to watch it. We have taken on her feedback and decided that we would keep the trailer the way it is as we want the trailer to not give too much information away but to keep the audience interested with what we have given.

Make up of IVY
Rupa my filming partner done the make up for the character Ivy. She gave her a ghost like makeover and added red face paint that looks like blood to give Ivy a sinister look. We also back combed her hair to make it look crazy and make her look nothing like an innocent child.

Audience feedback on poster
These are the responses I have received for my poster and my costume and prop list. The feedbacks were very helpful as I am able to use it to improve some of my work and continue to improve it reflecting some of the audiences opinions.

draft trailer
Myself and my partner created a draft of how our trailer would sound adding dialogue, music and sound effects to make our trailer. Making a draft helped us to work with what we have allowing us to create a trailer which would appeal to our target audience. We added some of the dialogues we had in our actual film onto the trailer so that when the audience listen to our trailer they would get a glimpse of what the film would be about. The purpose of trailers are to advertise upcoming films, they are placed on TVs online, radios etc… Being advertised in these platforms above it helps to create awareness as it tells the audience when a film will be out, what it is about, who are in it and much more. In our radio trailer the audience will hear what they expect to see in the film.

Radio trailer FINAL
Music: ominous music 0-5sec
SFX: door knock 5-6 sec
SFX: door hinge squeak 6-9.5 sec
Music: lullaby 3-24 sec
Dialogue: Lilly- “Hello, yeah hello this is
Ivy’s babysitter Lilly” 9.5-13.5 sec
Dialogue: Neighbour “Ivy?” 13.5-15.5 sec
Dialogue: Lilly- “Ivy from number 26”
15.5-19 sec
SFX: footsteps 11-19 sec
Music: ambience 19-42 sec
Music: Lullaby (distorted) 24-45 sec
SFX: Whispering 40-45 sec
The radio trailer draft one: we used less overlap and we added more dialogue then before. We were going to add a scream but felt that it was too cheesy and out of place. We will get audience feedback on the radio trailer and see what the audience think in order for us to improve it and make it better. We have started off with a lullaby because we wanted the mood to be set for the audience so straightaway they would be engaged. Also from the beginning of the radio trailer the audience finds out what kind of genre the film is. We wanted the lullaby to prepare the audience for something scary keeping them anticipated throughout. We then introduce the character, the dialogue of the character gives the impression that the character is hesitated and that something may have happened. When everything starts playing together such as the dialogue the music and the SFXs it builds tension and gets the audience reeling in for a surprise.

Contracts
This is the contract I have made and changed it according to what I needed signing for example asking permission from one of the actresses parent for her to star in our film. I had to make a contract for the two actresses, the location man, permission to enter the premises and so forth.

Poster Audience Response
Audience feedback
Audience 1: She recognised that the genre of the poster is horror by identifying the elements used in a typical horror film.
Audience 2: She thought that the poster was from a thriller genre because I mentioned that the name of the title will have a red and bloody effect to it hence why she thought it is thriller.
Both the audience said that they would want to watch the film in cinemas, this is because audience 1 said that the shadow effect in the bedroom gives it a mysterious atmosphere to it which is why audience 1 wants to know watch the film because she wants to know the reason behind the darkness and mystery.
The image below was a draft which I made and have annotated on.

Poster draft

This is a draft of how I want my poster to look like but there will be a few changes such as the will be a door visible and the lamp light will not be this bright it will be darker to give a dangerous affect to it. I have created this poster on a website called postermywall.com, this website has enabled me to create a poster, however I came across some difficulties such as not being able to make the dolly look 3D instead it was a 2D dolly.

Poster analysis
This is an analysis of a couple of horror posters which I have analysed. I have found that in most horror posters the use of dark colours are used often to symbolise death, danger and darkness. These posters has helped me to get an idea on how I want my poster to be, what fonts to use, what images to use and much more. In my poster I want to use dark colours to symbolise mystery and darkness which gives little indication about what the film is about giving it a sense of mystery luring the audience.

examples of music
The two lullabies we have chosen for our animatic are the ones above. We have played around with the lullabies and chose to play them in specific areas such as when the dolly appears, in the beginning of the film etc... These music we have chosen are very good at creating suspense and it makes the audience feel on the tip of their seat creating anticipation.

audience feedback on animatic
The videos above are our audience feedback, we got these two girls to watch our animatic of the film and asked them what they thought. We also asked them questions about what they thought about our costumes, props, location etc...
The audience feedback we received was useful as they told us what they thought of the animatic and if it interests them into watching it.

animatic
Here is a short animatic that me and my partner Rupa did in Final Cut Pro. It is draft on how the film will look like when its recorded. The sounds we have added are the type of sounds we would use for the film as they complement each shot in the scene. I will shows this animatic to our target audience and get a second opinion on the whole thing and see if they suggest any improvements or suggestions.
